Module 4 — Map Your FND and Other Health Conditions
A personal symptom map can reduce the work of remembering which symptoms are confirmed as FND, which belong to another diagnosis and which still need assessment. It can also record warning signs, possible influences, helpful strategies, preserved abilities and meaningful changes without turning daily life into constant symptom monitoring.
What this module teaches
- Keep confirmed FND symptoms, associated symptoms, separate diagnoses, medication effects and unresolved questions in different categories. [1]
- Keep possible triggers separate from warning signs that an episode or flare may already be beginning.
- Record what helps and what remains possible, not only what has been lost or made difficult. [2][3]
- Track only a few patterns that could change a decision. [3][4]
- Update the map when new evidence or a meaningful change alters the picture. [1][4]
- Use the map for communication and planning, not as a diagnostic test. This course’s one-page map is a project framework, not a validated clinical instrument. [3][4]
Pages
- Build and Use Your Personal Symptom Map — a step-by-step way to separate what is known, uncertain, changing and helpful on one updateable page.
Inside each page: Person with FND · Supporters · Clinicians · Research
Every page in this module uses these same four main sections.
